#reverb10 Dec.1

Hi all,

I am participating in a group writing program (#reverb10) which gives writing assignments each day.  I am coming into the program a little late so now is time to play catch-up.  I hope you enjoy.

December 1 – One Word. Encapsulate the year 2010 in one word. Explain why you’re choosing that word. Now, imagine it’s one year from today, what would you like the word to be that captures 2011 for you? (Author: Gwen Bell)

My word for 2010 is chaos.  The reason I am using this word is because it best describes 2010 for me.  I had a lot happening and it seemed that if something could go wrong, it did.  My wife and I have been involved in a house renovation and anyone that has been a part of one of these knows that there are always unexpected things that come about, so instead of the planned face lift, the project turned out to be a rebuild. My business has been down because of the economy but hey, everyone is so sick of hearing this story that we are not even going to go there.  I lost my Dad on Father’s day in a motorcycle accident (which crushed my world).  I had to take a job in construction where I had an accident and tore my rotator cuff (90% tear) and had to have surgery on that which has laid me up for months and now, here I am.

One year from today the word I would like to capture 2011 is success.  I am diving into my art and taking it from a hobby to my living.  I live it and breathe it already so I might as well let it feed me.  This will be a journey of finding myself because I like to do many things and create in many forms so stay with me and see where it leads.
