About Michael Colemire & Michael Colemire Designs
Creating is what I’ve always done. As a boy, I was forever carving on a hunk of wood, building with different media and found objects, and sneaking into Dad’s workshop to experiment with the forbidden power tools!
I just never thought I could do what I loved for a living. I saw only one option. Since I’m from a three-generation construction family, everyone around me expected that I would follow in their footsteps, operating heavy equipment. And, that’s what I did for almost 20 years.
Then, I had an accident on a construction site, which ended my career in the excavation field. Though it presented a challenge, it was what opened the door to my dream career.
Now, I’m doing what I was meant to do all along – I design, create, and build furniture and interiors for both your home and commercial space. From re-imagining or re-upholstering your favorite heirloom, to creating a custom piece of furniture from “tree to table,” or designing the perfect vibe for your commercial space, I can bring your vision into reality.
It would be an honor and privilege to be your creative partner.
Kevin Woods is our Welder Extraordinaire! Beyond welding, we can throw just about any project at him. He’s able to do blacksmithing, woodworking, maintain our equipment, and sing a mean rendition of your favorite classic country song. We’re fortunate to have such a talent here at the shop!
Noah Blevins, a Certified Welder, gets absorbed in the minute details required in our work. Here he is patiently sanding the intricate carvings on this chair. Noah’s myriad apprentice duties find him in the welding shop, the wood shop, and the upholstery shop. He also enjoys leather work, playing the guitar, and fishing.
We start ’em young here at Michael Colemire Designs! This is son, Mason, who helps out around the upholstery shop after school. He’s been known to vacuum and clean a bit, too.
No business is complete without shop dogs! Here are our beloved Black Lab, Ace (9/26/04 – 11/13/17) and Yellow Lab, Sadie Marie lounging on some reclaimed barnwood.
